Hi guys, just made this Cinema4D theme for Blender, I think it’s almost done. It’s a bit similar to “Elsyun” theme but a lot more… C4D lol I’m trying to make sure I forget no details. Also I don’t really know where to post the XML file, probably in some official Blender repository I have no idea x)

          Here you go : www.mediafire.com/file/w0pctiyhzyb5g9k/blender_cinema4d_interface_theme_by_tetsuoo.zip

          (edit: updated link)

I don’t know why I could not do that sooner (use Mediafire and share the link), I think I am tired x)

            Thanks :)

You could also simply attach it here in the forum :)

I will have a look at it. And when i don’t find flaws then i will include it into Bforartists when you don’t mind :)

Yes. The contrast between text and background should be more than 160 for good readability. In the range of 0-255.

Actually I just realized that I could just put the text color totally white. Not perfectly C4D but better now :)

That thing is hard work lol

Also I need to find an addon to help me with saving the changes. Basically what I do now is cliking on “+” than typing the correct theme name. EVERY time, forever x)

Sure ^^ Tell me if you find anything wrong :) I think the timeline is not perfect, the colors are not contrasty enough in that area (not very good for the eyes). Unfortunately it’s tied to the Scrollbar color, so changing it would be very bad. Can’t be helped :/

While investigating on this, I just found that other very cool theme called Engine9, the guy really worked his ass off on this one : http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/73524

A similar but lighter version called “Sunrise”, here : http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/76713

..and I will stop there but I’m loving it :p

Neat theme. Unfortunately under CC license. Means i will not include it into Bforartists.

And it seems that you still work at the theme. So i better wait with including it in Bforartists. Give me a hint when you are ready :)

Ah, I spent the whole days test rendering, totally forgot to post the last version of the theme. Here you go : http://www.mediafire.com/file/w0pctiyhzyb5g9k/blender_cinema4d_interface_theme_by_tetsuoo.zip

If you see nothing wrong or missing then go ahead you can use it no problem :)

So far I consider it done

Thanks. This is a really pleasant theme :)

I spotted one problem zone so far. The header of the info editor. The here used black text is nearly unreadable. On the other hand, when you make it white then the warnings becomes hard to read. I think i was trapped by this too before. I haven’t found a way to make the background of the warnings a bit darker yet.

wow okay, actually I wanted to change the header background color but didn’t find that one ^^ It’s supposed to be the same grey as the rest (#474747 grey, according to the C4D UI style). Then eventually I decided to leave it like this because it’s nicer :) But yeah, if I’m not wrong just changing this header bakground in a lighter grey could easily do the trick. I would probably put it slighty lighter again to get a nice touch.

On a sidenote, the headers are tricky; it’s like they have an invisible darkener on them x) It only gets lighter when it’s activated, so for this special case to get #474747 you put #515151. I think #585858 would be nice :p

Another solution would be to keep the dark header and for the text re-use that dark orange #B26F30 (because life is not just black and white :p). It’s even nicer actually but not very “C4D proof” lol

That would also resolve the problem with the light background of the warnings

It looks very nice … I think it’ll be the one I use :)

                                  Hi…

JUst discovered this site/software. I was a C4D user for years until they priced me out! I LOVED the software, but just can’t keep up with the rising price. Looked at Blender on and off and couldn’t even get through the tutorials. Very confusing.

Is this them/UI available yet either through bforartists or Tetsuo?

Right now I’m working through Cheetah 3D which is very easy to use, but limited in what it can do. I’m into charater animation and rigging. (Not that good at it, but need ease of use with some advanced functionality, which is exactly what C4D had for me.

Thanks for any info you can provide!

                                  Bob
