2 objects in the same scene are each shown in a different way: nr 1 correctly rendered as wished, nr 2 simultaneously incorrect. When I switch to the other render method, nr 1 is incorrect and nr 2 correct.

I see it in the Rendered view and in the Materials view, see the 4 printscreens. Should I change some preset? Now all is still default.

ReinerBforartists explained already things, and told me to stick to Cycles render and i’ll do so. He gave me also the hint to aks questions in this forum. I’m a beginner, and still don’t know how to solve this. Still hoping…

      blender render in material

      blender render in rendered

      cycles render in material

      cycles render in rendered

Hi, and welcome to the forums :)

There is nothing to solve. It is simply the way the objects gets displayed in the different modes :)

        Kind regards

Yehp. Cycles and Blender internal are two different material models, so one uses nodes, the other doesn’t. Some nodes work and display in Cycles, but not in Blender internal. They aren’t really cross compatible – out of design.

Though, the good news is that Eevee of the 2.8 update end of the year and Cycles will be somewhat cross-compatible.

Yea I use a plugin that creates Cycles materal nodes importing models that don’t work with  Blender render :/

“They aren’t really cross compatible”: thanks Draise, now I know nothing was wrong in my presets!

Thanks NigeC, and what is the name of the plugin?

I just know of this addon here: https://developer.blender.org/diffusion/BAC/browse/master/materials_cycles_converter.py

The bad news is, it is gone and deleted. Not longer available. And it was just a one way road. From BI to Cycles. Your best bet is to start with the material system and renderer that you want to use for the final result.

Sorry that i have no better news.

                  Kind regards

it was the Sketchup to Blender plugin that creates Cycles materials

I wouldn’t bother to much with the Blender native renderer, its gone in Blender 2.8 which could be out in a matter of months
