I was wondering if anyone has tried Blender 2.8 and Eevee yet?
I was very surprised that Eevee worked quite well on a horrible dualcore laptop with a Intel graphics card, 4GB of Ram and running Linux, ironically the Windows build was a bit crashy if I tried to save anything
Haven’t had the time yet, sorry ^^
But yeah, eevee is a great thing. And we will come to it too, sooner or later
volumetric scattering is very quick, its really nice you don’t need to constantly test render to set that kind of scene, it also uses Cycles node for some things, they aren’t totally compatible but I’ve seen that they are aiming for that.
For me Windows seems a bit crashy but I’ve just updated my drivers so hopefully that will help
The future is looking bright
Gave it a quick whirl in W10 a couple of months back. Tried the test scenes.. and man the viewport was slow even on my GTX1060. I think it must be better now, but yeah..I had the system freeze on me when work in volumetrics. Will take some time for compatibility and stability, but… it definately is the way of the future.

Eevee is getting serious, more and more functions are included and animation is supported as well by now. – This will be such an awesome tool. As it looks now, once the scene is set up one can actually work straight in the final rendering more or less.
I agree… with Eevee, the collections system, multiobject edit and with time: animation improvements along with more and more nodal workflow integrations – and the relaxing UI tweaks of BFA.. I feel like I’m working 3D as a teen in trueSpace for fun again. Revitalizing.
