Dear Reader,
this is the Forum-Thread where you can apply for a role as a developer in the Bforartists project.
We are still looking for supporters in various positions around the project!
Please feel free to just write an “Answer” with a little text to this post and we will get back to you soon and discuss the further steps via private message on this site.
Thank you!
Hi,
I’d like to help in the development of your Blender fork. I’m not a coder (although interested), but a 4th year student in Product Development so I think I can help in many ways.
Kind regards.

Hi, my name is Daniel Rivera and I would like to contribute to the project with their version for linux x 64
Hi dr2d4,
Uh, that’s nice. Is this version independantly playable at other Linux versions too? Or just a local built version? The reason why i ask is that there is a heavy dependency problem. It’s not done with compiling Bforartists locally at your linux system. The dependencies must be included. I was trapped by this before
Your account is developer now. Welcome aboard
I am XSI veteran with 18y+ experience. Killing XSI by autodesk was like chopping of my hands. After that, I am unable to “grow” my both hands with any other software. With bforartists I felt my hand start to be alive. But just one. I would like to be helpful in bforartists development, and bring in my deep XSI experience to make 3D creation joyfull and smooth again. Not just for me, and for thousands of former XSI users as well, but for all the artists which did not had chance to to feel pleasure of creation with mature software, which is not fighting against artists, but supporting, and supplementing them.
Thanks
Marek
Hi Marek,
Welcome aboard. I have set your user role to developer now. Then we can talk about details
Hey.
I’m a UX/UI designer based in Wellington New Zealand with over 20 years experience designing software. I worked for a 3D software company called RightHemisphere and I was responsible for designing software called DeepPaint 3D which was for 3d texturing and DeepUV for UV mapping.
I am also a 3d artist and started out way back on the Amiga with Imagine and LightWave before switching to 3D Studio on DOS. I migrated from 3D Studio to Max and have stuck with it ever since version 1. I also use other 3D tools like Mudbox, Zbrush, Topogun, Quixel Tools and Substance Painter just to name a few. I am currently looking at learning Blender and a friend recomended I take a look at Bforartists and here I am.
I currently work for a software company that develops award winning data visualization tools for the casino industry. In the evenings I mainly work on game mods with my main focus right now being creating spaceships for Star Citizen.
I would be happy help out Bforartists with any UX/UI design and will also look at creating my own theme and set of icons.
You can see some old examples of my work on https://www.behance.net/matthewsimmonds There is no work on there from the last 4 years but is should give you an idea about work I do.
Cheers.

Hi guys,
I am a Senior II software QA tester working in the field for about 26 years. Last 7 years I have been working in the health software industry. I specialize in leading small projects using Agile with Rally for Usability testing, UAT even creating UI wireframe mockups as well as integration and functionality testing. Digital art has been a passion since I can remember that is why I had always used a Mac at home and drwn in pencil anc color pencils. Time has passed and for economic and life reasons instead of concentrating on art, I ended up as a software engineer. Yet I think is a good base for what I like to do.
I am starting to take 3D as a hobby. I have read several articles of different 3D software reviews and I am familiar with several terms in the industry. Now I am playing around, Carrara 8.5 (Discontinued but given as was a gift and felt in love with the UI), Daz3D, and Blender (the most complete free 3D creator out). Something that stresses me most about the software in general is how usability is an afterthought or not thought of at all. I consider myself somehow art inclined. I have drawn with pencil since I was younger and have taken some Photoshop and 3D art classes with Maya. Like in Health, 3D software is usually aimed for highly qualified (technically and patient for workarounds) and not average users , artists and amateurs like me. In my opinion it’s like we have seen it in Shark Tank: If the product is not appealing and intuitive, it will not reach much audience.
I’d like to be part of a 3D software easy to use and Beforartists seems to hit it right on the nail: Usability!. I’d like to collaborate providing feedback as I am learning Blender and move later into more complex creations.
Hi bertmg,
I have set your account to developer now. And you will receive a pm shortly
As a side note, you don’t necessarily need a developer account to make suggestions. The tracker is open to anybody.
Kind regards
Reiner
Hi there,
I would like to get involved in any bug fixing or dev work I can with this project. I’m a hardware engineer by trade but I do a lot of software development, mostly in Linux but do cross platform whenever I can. I really like the way you’ve arranged the interface and made it more intuitive. Anyway, I would love to help in any way that I can.
Cheers
Hi atreyu,
Then welcome aboard
I have set your account to developer now. You should see the developer forum. For github you need to set up an account. And then i can invite you there too. You will also get a pm shortly
