I decided to have a go at compiling BFA on my very sad dual core laptop with Linux Lubuntu.. I’m now 1 1/2 hours in and is still doing the dependents stage, I’m now doing house work, my wife thinks I’m after something lol
I’m going to be gutted if it fails after all this time but I will share it if it works
right now its on llvm support
Sorry for the pain. And fingers crossed
Sharing doesn’t work this easy. It requires to compile with static libraries. Else it just works at your current system. Not at other systems. Our maintainer has given up at it with the newest version …
Ah I never considered I would need to build it static, if it works then I’ll look into it
I now know why you aren’t trying to build on VM, its still “in progress” here, I’d imagine it would be very painfull on a virtual machine
I got it working once. But Linux is a pain for me in general ^^
yeah it failed here..
I’ll try building Blender from source first, Lubuntu probably isn’t the best Distro for doing this sort of thing the chances are something is missing
The wife is happy, I’m doing house work while I wait for stuff to happen lol
