I saw a huge barrage of spam last night. Glad it got cleaned up.
How did this happen? why?

How does crime happen? It simply happens. It’s the eternal battle that every forum leads.
Cleaning up was a few clicks. No big drama really. I have made a few adjustments now to the registration form. The bad news is that the spambots still registers. And so i haven’t found the right weapon yet. Search continues.
I have new registrated users in a registration queue now. And sort them by hand.This works for a small community. But not for a bigger one. And it can happen that i delete non-bot registrations that way. We will see how it goes.
Maybe Captchas may need to be improved? Post to Gallery verification? I am not a robot gateway?

I have the current optimum of protection already installed. But bots always makes it through at one point. That’s the way it is. When bots starts to make it throuh then the anti bot developers develops the next level of protection, which may work for a few more months. And then the bots starts to make it through again.
I play this game since many years. It’s tiresome, it’s cumbersome. But we have to deal with it. The only thing that we could do to have a 100% protection is to close the forum and the tracker. Problem solved. But we need it
